Respiratory Illness Guidelines
A Cappella Joy Chorus Respiratory Illness Guidelines - updated 2-5-2025
A Cappella Joy enthusiastically welcomes guests! We'd love to have you come sing with us!
We rehearse indoors in Bellevue and we livestream our rehearsals for singers at home.
All prospective guests need to check in with our membership chair, Sarah, to review our
Respiratory Illness Guidelines and to arrange a date to visit. You can
email [email protected] and Sarah will contact you. Even if you are friends with an AJoy
member, this check-in is an important step in keeping everyone in the community safe and
healthy.
All common respiratory illnesses can interrupt our singing, and all are contagious. These
include the common cold viruses, influenza, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), COVID-19
and more.
When you have cold symptoms, it could be any of these, so we ask that you wash your
hands frequently and wear a mask to rehearsal. Always wear a N95-type mask, not a cloth
mask or a simple surgical mask.
If you have a fever, or feel sick, or have COVID, please stay home and take care of yourself.
We require all guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID. In general, this means you have
had the most recent dose available to you. We do not require that you show proof. If you
have had a close household exposure to COVID but are feeling fine, please wear a mask to
rehearsal. Please let us know if you test positive for COVID within a week of rehearsal.
We recommend flu shots every fall.
Above all, take care of yourself so we can stay healthy to sing together and keep our
families healthy! Thank you for your support.
